2009-2010 NBA TK Season Preview

Whats up everybody, it's been a while which means I've been up to something. In the past week a lot has gone on So I'll let you in on the events.
- I've contemplated legally changing my name to Kylan TK Express.
- I went up to visit my GF at Pomona and reminded my self why I like San Diego. But I had fun.
- In the spirit of Halloween my true colors as a Vampire have been unleashed throughout the month. Let the ladies cry, but Edward can take a back seat to me.
- Also I've decided to Carve Ladainian Tomlinson in my pumpkin this Halloween to give him the respect he deserves for being a great force for the Chargers franchise. It will look like this.

- In Dunking News: Unfortunately an MRI has revealed I have a possible tear in my meniscus. I'm trying to decided whether to have surgery or not. But I will dunk one day. I apologize for the inconvenience to those who are anticipating me to fly.


Ok So I realize Tha Express is not a Sports source only, but today It is. The Sport: NBA. My Favorite sport of all time. Basketball. The Association kicked off its season yesterday and I among other fans am very excited. So get ready cuz here is the run down of what to look for.

The main story this NBA season is The Reign of Stacked Teams. There are 4 huge powerhouses:

The Lakers: - The reigning Champs are back, but this time with more ammo to fire off. Kobe, Odom, Pau, Bynum, Tha Machine, My twin/ distant Cousin Jordan Farmar, and hmm one more person...Yes all you dummies who were mad at me for backing up the fiery Ron Artest last year during the playoffs now have to bow your heads to him and me. You see the Lakers went out and added that "Psycho", you know the one who got in Kobe's face after Kobe elbowed him in the throat? So to all you delusional fans who let your "top of the sports world" mentality get to you. I have one thing to say. Look at this picture:

But to the true fans, like my boy Shuttlesworth, enjoy the season cuz the Lakeshow will be fun to watch. And with the aid of Phil Jackson and Zen I see them going very far.

The Celtics - The formula that won them a championship 2 years ago is back in action. Take all the talented aging players from really bad teams and put them on the same team. KG, The Truth, The Real Jesus Shuttlesworth and now Rasheed Wallace are all together. A formidable opponent for any team the Celtics will be great. Last night they won against another powerhouse, the Cavaliers, but they have to be worried because there was a Party happening during the game for Lebron James. What kinda Party?

A Block Party!

Lebron spread his malice 4 times taking out Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo. I really hope you saw that block on Rondo, cuz I'm pretty sure even Rondo's shoulders were struggling to keep his head up the rest of the night. Sorry Sister Bear

The Cavaliers - The greatest one man show is back in action and stronger than ever. I'm not saying Lebron is a ball hog but it seems no matter who plays with him, they stand in awe and forget to do their job as a teammate. Maybe things will be different for the 25 year old King of Ohio, because this time he is joined by the King of Big men, The Big Aristotle, the First Superman, The Diesel, The Shaqtus... Yep Lebron and Shaq.

A Ring For the King

Perhaps as his final curtain calls, Shaq will try and earn one more ring as he hand hands the reigns to the up and coming league. The Key to the Cavaliers will be teamwork, they have the pieces to win a championship. But its about team, not individuals. On a side note, Lebron had a Cancer scare earlier, but it was revealed that he is healthy. Also I hope to see the healthy return of the creative and talented Delonte West who was diagnosed with a serious case of Bipolar Disorder. And please someone better have his donuts

The Magic - Superman and youth favorite Dwight Howard looks to propel the Magic Back to the Finals. Dwight is probably the goofiest kid in the NBA. But this goofy kid can play.

Just a kid, a big talented kid

The Magic have made the additions of Vince Carter who is documented for not playing hard when he feels like it. A superstar player like Vince should be able to play hard every game now that he is on a team that could win it all. They also added some toughness with players like UCLAs own Matt Barnes, and Brandon Bass. They did lose the Turkish Micheal Jordan, Hedo Turkoglu but I don't think they will miss him with Vince in town. And for the Tom Helfricks of the world. The magic also have JJ reddick, perhaps a few 3 pointers will fly from him.



Now It will be difficult for any other team to win the NBA championship other than these, discounting a huge injury to a star. So why do I watch? For me basketball isn't about a championship, sure its nice when the team you follow wins, but the players are always traded around, so are you really that attached to that City? I hope not. I watch because of the stories, the excitement of the Rooks, the ability to watch Players i've known for years have success, and to admire those who play defense. For The Love of The Game

Little Nate

5'6", a bundle of energy and frequent mention on Tha Express. In a league of vertically blessed individuals, Nate Rob Succeeds, and sometimes dunks over huge guys, and has even blocked the shot of 7'5" Yao Ming. He is a wonder to watch especially if you enjoy the little guys.

UCLA Players - This reason is pretty much just for me, and UCLA fans. I love watching players from UCLA. Seeing their success, it's like watching them grow up. My favorite players from college transfer over to the big Stage. Russell Westbrook, Baron Davis,Jordan Farmar,Arron Afflalo, Kevin Love, Trevor Ariza, Matt Barnes, Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, Jason Kapono, Earl Watson, Darren Collison, and Ryan Hollins. The list goes on. But if you have a favorite college team, you should watch to follow the players that make it from there!

Chase Budinger -

Chase Budinger was a guy who I had played basketball with sense middle school. Everyone raved over him in high school, because he scored 40 pts a game. But I never once believed he was that good, sure he is talented but when you are 6'7" and the rest of the highschool players are 6 feet mainly, I would hope you score 40 if you have any sort of talent.
He is now in the NBA on the Houston Rockets. I have made various bets with people, who i have now since forgotten, that Chase will never be a superstar or a significant player. He can jump and shoot when open, But I stand firmly today still saying that he will never be good because he can't play defense. Last night he played in his first game. 6 pts , including a dunk that made top ten plays on ESPN. I will defend my case. The Houston Rockets are a team that, as of now, are entirely composed of really good role players and then regular players. Yao ming is out for the season, Tracy Mcgrady is out for a few months, Ron Artest left to the Lakers. The only reason Chase is playing at all is because of these conditions. 6 pts is 3 baskets, in a sport that slacks to play defense and is far too long. don't you think you could score 6 points in a game that lasts 48 minutes with stopped clock for free throws? Also the only reason he made Top Ten Plays is because 2 things
1)He is a White Dunker, its a rarity.
2) last night's sports totaled to 4 basketball games, No baseball, No football. That leaves it to Hockey and other obscure sports to fill the Top 10.

Glibert Arenas - One of the 2 people I take after most in basketball and In life. Gilb has use his determination to prove others wrong to fuel him to become great his whole life even when he was a child. After rising to stardom, this unorthodox player has been struck by severe knee injuries the last 2+ years and is finally back, I hope, to the Washington Wizards.
Prior to the injuries Gilb has proved he can be the ringleader of his circus... the NBA. And when I say circus I mean Circus.
- He has his own gym that has altered Oxygen levels, so he can work at high altitudes for endurance.
- He told scouts that his fall back job if he didn't get drafted was International Pimp
- He flipped a coin ten times to see whether to chose the Clippers or Washington in Free agency, The coin came up 7 times in favor of the Clippers. So he chose the Wizards...
-He once took a shower at halftime in his jersey to wash away his bad first half play, he led the wizards to a comeback win, soaking wet.

The New Gilbert Arenas

There are more things. but this season is interesting because Gilbert has changed. He is focused on winning. No more limelight. No more telling the media what he does. Its all basketball. This almost-vow of silence from Gilb has Baffled me. I don't know what is goin on in his head. But i hope it is for the best.


There are many more players with individual stories, but my point is: This is why we watch. For the Love of the Game.And Even though one of those 4 power houses is likely to win, you never know, maybe there will be an upset. Everyone loves a Cinderella.

"Mama There Goes That Man"

If you don't already know by now, within the next few seconds of reading you will discover one of my most polarizing secrets.

I can not stand the relationship between Jim and Pam on The Office. And I think Karen Filippelli is way better.

Yes I will say it until I die.

I just watched the latest episode of The Office: The Office Wedding. On the real for real, it was a good episode and just so none of you get confused it's not the show that I hate, its Pam... and Kelly Kapoor but that's a given. In fact I enjoy The Office a lot just like most of you. So without fartherfurther delay, Here are my reasons why I will always bash on Pam and make avid watchers cry.

1. Pam is a stereotype "Stupid Girl" - At the start of the season she is dating a guy named Roy, who works in the warehouse. There is clearly a developing relationship between Jim and Pam, and even more clearly everyone can see Roy is a Douche-bag Extraordinaire. Someone who is mean to others, thinks he is all that, and disrespects Pam/ women in general. However despite all these reasons, Pam decided to stick with Roy, and eventually agree to marrying him. TK: "What?"

- All the fans of the office LOVE Pam, How can you love someone who is so blind and so lacking of will power to follow her true feelings? That the first reason why Pam Beezy Beesly is Wack.

2. No body gives Karen Filipelli any credit! -

So Jim goes to a different branch, Meets Karen Filippelli and dates her. Things go well, until they both move back to the original Scranton Branch and Jim finds out that Pam didn't marry Roy. At first he avoids Pam, and sticks with Karen who seems to be a awesome girlfriend and Is, But then He admits to Karen that he still has feelings for Pam and they break up and everyone is happy for Jim and Pam.

Everyone is Blind.

Whats wrong here? What about Karen, the girl who isn't an Idiot and doesn't date smarmy /sleazy warehouse guys? The girl who is just as cool, or cooler as a girlfriend for Jim. I understand that people can still have feelings for other people, but honestly? Pam? but beside that biased remark. Why wasn't there more sympathy for the girlfriend who didn't do anything wrong and just got her feelings hurt and for god's sake perhaps her fictional heart broken? That's my problem. That's not right.


3. I Have a Secret Crush On Rashida Jones -

How sick would it be to meet her?!

Being a secret crush, I have done my best to keep this behind closed doors. But this and this time only , forever written on the blog, I will tell you that I have a huge crush on Rashida Jones. Only a select few can see what I see here, only the true judges of character can see that Rashida is a flat out Dimer. Only people like me, and Professor Chaos Buttas can fancy to meet her rather than a Megan Fox or Rihanna. Of course she's is beautiful, but my upbringing and my Women's Studies Teach have taught me to look past looks for the realness. Ms. Jones is a exceptional actress who possesses intellect and creativity. A strong woman, and one that I admire.


This confession of love will add to my list of why I don't like Pam, but as the Story goes Karen Filippelli moves to another Branch and eventually exits the show. But she plays a more featured role in the fairly new show Parks and Recreation. Which I recommend to watch regardless of my interests.

The Office continues to be a great show. But for me, and I still don't know why not for you, not because of characters like Pam Beesly. Thank goodness for Dwight and random smaller characters like Kevin and Creed.

Anyway that will be all today as this Emotional Express flys by. I'm sorry if you hate me. But at the end of the day I'm just That Guy.

Self-absorbed It may be, but I have done a lot of crazy/ unbelievable/ random things in my life. So I will make my own personal top 5 moments of my existence over the last couple years. I’ve done a lot of worthy things From Crazy basketball shots to having 2 dates at Prom. The spectrum is wide and a lot of my moments are still in my head.They are Calculated plans... not to mention FULLPROOF plans. Only now have I started a document where I write down every single moment in my life. For if It is true that I can really die, I will live on in the thoughts of others.. as a legend. Everyone will know who That Guy is. The Legend of T.K.y.


#5 Devious Plan: Liminate SAT2. It was Senior year, and I was fed up with the school system. Finally I had seen the truth in the administration of all education platforms. So much of life seems to be based on this stupid test, a number out of 2400… I wasn’t feelin that. You see with me its all about individuality. And if you told me my 1980 wasn’t as good as someone’s 2350 I would beg to differ. Because I deserved to be in the best college available, I deserved to have opportunity. So what better way to make people compare on basis of talent/ not score than to even the playing field?
Let the plan begin.
But first a distraction was needed. In the school quad, some miles away sat a mountain. The perfect place for a catapult. You see my plan was unstoppable, I would fill this catapult with a couple hundred bags of shit... (that is not a typo) Sling them to the quad. Wait there was more. Before the launch I would organize 2 staged fights, you know the brawls that cause the whole school to riot. As the fake riots are raging, the catapult is released, but not before each bag of shit is lit on fire. An all out Armageddon perfectly placed along the circle of cement surrounding the quad… Complete Chaos? No I’ll call it an Orchestrated Fiasco or the greatest distraction ever. The only distraction that would allow me and the crew to sneak into the counselors’ offices and change everyone’s files and grades…. Yea .. ride off into the sunset.

Result… A couple friends talked me out of it and regrettably I decided to follow the status quo of graduating high school.





#4 Forever Piglets: I’m on the quest to be heard, I’m not sure if its fame I want cuz once I got famous I would love to ignore everyone for liking me just because of my status. But I always find my self with plans to get famous and then some. One time I made a trip to L.A. with my friend just to find Hayden Panettierre. During the Disneyland parade Ariel blew me a kiss and gave me the eye… needless to say Ariel ended my relationship at the time because the GF got jealous. But that was then, and this is another then..
The Target: Miley Cyrus.

There was hope.. or maybe there was just TK

You see through all the hype and scandal. I felt this youngin was just misunderstood. But just as the world turns, Misunderstood people turn into monsters. It was my mission to find this girl and stop a tragedy because we didn’t need another Ho in this world. But of course if I just walked up to her door I would be turned away by security. So I would need a way to appeal to her or just trample the guards.
There are miniature pigs that stay piglets forever, thus named Forever piglets. Regardless of Miley it would be awesome to have one of these… or a couple hundred.

Did I mention there is a song?

You get new toys people get jealous, so to prevent harm to these piglets I would have suits of armor constructed for each of them. Yes a swarm of piglets in armor. Like a wave of mercury, I would surf on top as my piglet army took me through the hills of Hollywood all the way to Miley’s house. Persuade Billy Ray to let me stay the night and play board games and talk all night.And save the world from another Lindsey Lohan

Result: I soon realized there must be a better way to get famous. And the piglets are still an option… oh yeah.


#3 Making The Band 5: I’ve made my share of videos. Some make it to Youtube, some never make the cut past the editing board… And some are never released because of sheer embarrassment. This was one of those events. I’m a huge fan of Making The Band Season 4. The one with Day 26. So I decided it would be cool to film my own. Start my own band… only problem is the people I had to work with were my main group of friends. The Characters listen up like this

I would have never thought I would have orchestrated such a production. It started off well. Funny episodes everyone was into it. But then just like all actors not under contract.. it went out of control. Everyone had his or her own ideas and own spin. Everyone wanted their face time. Needless to say the episodes ended when TK went solo and split from the band. I have the tape in my room… forever hidden from the world.

#2 The Persuader:
I can never make my dreams come true without help, So over time I have mastered the art of trickery and persuasion. I’ve cut my friend Glen’s hair without him knowing, simply because his mullet was out of control. I once got nose goes’d into renting a movie… I created the illusion that I went to the store and it was sold out when really I just walked around the house.. although I did fall through a dirt hole outside in the process… and I’m this close away from getting the worlds first game of Human Jenga going. There are many more events in which I made some sort of declaration in my head and made it come true. But this one was worthy of number 2.
The Ultimate hoodwink.
We spent the day at 6 flags over some break during senior year of high school. We stayed the night in the area and we were going to leave in the morning/ afternoon. After a night of sleeping on the floor.. or not sleeping because fear of being farted on and losing my life like past friends have lost theirs before… I decided that we should just go home without stopping for an expensive lunch. It was around the time of a certain steak pizza ad that was provided by dominoes. I persuaded my car of 3 other guys to fast and order a pizza when we arrived home. The proposal? It will taste better because we will be fasting. We will crave the taste, it will be the best pizza you have ever tasted. Well with pull-strings pulled and delusion curtains covering the truth I was well on my way home.

There I was , A Jesus allegory Kylan leading his disciples on a pilgrimage to the land of Milk and honey. Similar to that Jesus Allegory Lion in Narnia, I was Azlan… but I was not in Narnia I was on an endless freeway going south. We fasted the whole day. We arrived home at 5 maybe 6 ish. And ordered that pizza, Severely disappointed were the crew when they had found out they were duped. I found out a couple things that day… I could persuade anyone to to anything if I wanted. And.. Dominoes pizza is so bad that its not even good after a fast.

#1The Catch: Believe it or not. I used to play baseball. Little League of course. But when I played as a youngster I wasn’t fast or athletic and I soon transitioned over to the sport of basketball where I discovered my hidden talent of being a defensive terror. I had unleashed a reckless abandon with a touch of ballet dancer’s grace. I knew I had a gift.
One Summer about 2 years ago I decided to go back to baseball. It was me, Demetrius Jamz, Glen, The Salo, and Mr. Scote. We decided to play some baseball… back to my childhood there stood TK in Centerfield. Name of the game? Homerun Derby. “ I hit Jacks, Son!” actually.. I only hit about 4, and was ousted in the Quarterfinals. So I was to Shag balls and play defense all day.

Glen at the bat…hits a shot to dead center. Clearly a home run. Playing rather shallow I acted on instinct.. As the ball sailed over my head I tossed my glove straight into the air. I hit the ball to take it off homerun course. However still sailing well toward the wall I ran straight back the fence. The ball careened and hit the top on the fence bouncing back into the field. Still in full sprint and not to the wall yet, I decided to make history. I dove toward the ball. Not some wimpy slide, a full on horizontal to the ground, head first, arms out - dive. In mid air. I caught the ball and hit the ground.

but cooler.

Wind knocked out I heard screams, I got up and turned around to see the whole lot of the competition running at me. Raising the roof and screaming I had just made the greatest catch you may ever see. And I have 4 witnesses… I am the greatest.


There you have it, a whole side you may or may have not seen of me. The scary part is there are too many stories to tell. Which will lead me into coming events this weekend.
ImOnTKTV will broadcast interviews(finally) with a segment called Moments In TK History - Where I discuss moments of my life with the interviewer. This weekend up to bat is Glen. We will be talking football, TK, and go on a little challenge Relating to the discussed topics. The video should be up by Sunday.
