I'mma let you finish, but first i'm going to tell you why I changed my topic. I watched a movie recently and realized 1 of 2 things.
1) Movies are Awful
or
2) People are Awfuller
Every movie that I have enjoyed in my life has caused me to believe a whole bunch of stuff. So much that I can say it has had a lasting effect on who I am. Being raised almost entirely by one parent you could say I had to search around for my other guidance and to and extent movies may be one arrow pointing me down paths in life.
I've learned a lot of things:
People can have superpowers and do magic
Bad guys always end up getting grilled at the end
People are nice
The nice guys are charming and everyone wants them to win
Once in a while you will find someone who will change your life
You will stick with the person through your life and achieve great things
Love is undeniable
Most importantly: Be the good guy at all costs, cuz you'll be the hero at the end
The list could go on, but I was thinkin about it and that stuff doesn't happen... at least as much as it should... or as much as much as I'd like it to happen to me.
Then I sat there wondering if I had been lead astray by movies, cuz everytime something good comes up in my life I think something spectacular is going to happen.
For instance, coaching basketball has gone really well, really freaking fast. I now I have the opportunity to coach a bunch of players. So I'm thinking this will be the opportunity to make my mark, my life of unorthodox methods and beliefs will finally come into play and I might find a player that I can connect to , and change his or her life. Because while in the immediate future I am sure that anyone teamed with me will become a great athlete, I would like to be remembered for what type of people they become outside of sports. I truly believe that too, a great friendship and experience is one where you can learn from each other.
But that's the movies talking in me.
cuz the more I think about it:
Imma keep trying, but my hands have yet to spark flames, and im not getting that letter to Hogwarts yo..
People aren't nice
A lot of bad guys get away with it
The Nice guys aren't too charming, and usually get pushed to the side
If someone came to you saying they could change your life for the better, chances are you are going to get really weirded out and stay away
You won't ever be able to advance to a better human being because everyone is so closed minded.
Love is very avoidable, and usually gets skipped over by quick to bite guys, and low self-esteem girls
and Most unfortunately: The good guys/girls could live and die and no one would ever know or care
2 things again
Movies are very misleading
or
People aren't smart enough to listen to what good movies have to say, and are just dumb enough to listen to what bad movies do say.
It takes a lot for a 20yr old me to admit I'm wrong, So i'm going to have to go with the second one. People aren't that smart. And while i believe many would agree with this, it's funny but its not, it's mostly frustrating
I just wonder how many problems could be solved if people were smarter
and I'm really wondering when my life is going to become my movie.
and Imma let you know for sure, this basketball movie is going to be great.
